  • Travelling west on Highway 73, follow the signposts to Arthurs Pass. The Craigieburn turnoff is well labelled on the left, about 15km from the top of the Porters Pass. Criagieburn's main area is made up of two basins, Siberia Basin and Hamilton Face. It is an advanced field with plenty of steeps and chutes. 1,308m - 1,811m altitude.

  • Wide-open ski terrain on Mt. St. Patrick, an easy 40min drive from the alpine thermal holiday resort of Hanmer Springs. At 1,850m, Mt. St Patrick is part of the St James range that dominates the region. The season tends to run from early July to mid-September.

  • Manganui is on the slopes of Mt Egmont. The access road turnoff is just south of Stratford on Highway 3. The T-Bar accessed lower slopes are open and gentle. This is in contrast with the nutcracker accessed upper slopes which are steeper. As with most New Zealand terrain the slopes are open and treeless. 1,260m - 1,680m.

  • This region encompasses all but one of New Zealand's 3,000m peaks and largest glaciers - it is an area of spectacular icefalls, soaring ridges and immense vertical scale. Dominating the area is the massif of Aoraki/Mount Cook, the 'Cloud Piercer', rising over 3,000m from its valley floor. The vigorous maritime climate, combined with the high peaks of the Southern Alps (only 30km from the ocean) has created a heavily glaciated mountain landscape.

  • Southeasterly facing bowl 112 km from Christchurch. It is made up of two halves, the groomed piste and the ungroomed which has Mt Cockayne at the top and Powder Vallley. Groomed area is mostly intermediate terrain, there is a small but good nursery area, and plenty of off-piste steeps which can be traversed to. 1,570m - 1,840m.
