Arlberg Region
St. Anton am Arlberg. Birthplace of alpine ski races. Here is where the very first ski club in the alps was founded in 1901, also where the first Arlberg-Kandahar Race was held in 1928. Paradise for all winter sport lovers. 82 lifts, 260 kilometers of pists and 185 kilometers of deep snow descents. Right in front of your door, the purest ski pleasures imaginable.
Bad Gastein
An old spa-town resort with extensive slopes, most of them wide-open above the tree line. Located near the head of eastern Austria's Gastein valley. Extensive, but somewhat fragmented runs. Relatively good snow reliability for a low-altitude spot.
Bad Hofgastein
This is a modern, sporting community lying 850m above sea level in the sunniest and widest part of the valley. Somewhat smallish, yet still very impressive. Top elevation 2,686m (8,810ft), base 870m (2,854ft). Morning lines for the funicular can be annoying. Smart folks take the chair from the top of the train.
Bad Kleinkirchheim
26 lift facilities, 100km of carefully prepared ski runs supported by 750 snowmachines, 45 km of cross-country ski trails, sledding hills, ice-curling and ice-skating, boarding and winter trekking – there isn’t anything you can’t do in Bad Kleinkirchheim!
Bodensee-Alpenrhein
The guaranteed snowy ski area of Bödele in Dornbirn offers nine ski lifts to liven up your day of skiing. A secret tip of the locals is the ski area in Laterns-Gapfohl with 27 km of well tended downhill runs, the half-pipe and the Fun park for snow-boarders.
Brand Valley
Smaller ski resort situated close to the Swiss and Lichtenstein borders, near Bludenz.
Dachstein Glacier
A small, but very popular year-round glacier, mainly among cross-country racers. Linked with Ramsau by the cable car.The Schladming Dachstein Tauern ski pass also allow skiing in the Gasteiner Valley, Hochkonigs and Grossarltar.
Defereggental Region
This sunny Tirolean valley stretches east to west and is surrounded by majestic mountains. The valley base is at an elevation of 1,100 - 1,500 m, and the ski area extends up to 2,500m. There is always plenty of snow. A low pressure area from the Mediterranean Sea is responsible for snowfall in November, and thanks to the elevation, there is great skiing until April.
Dorf Gastein
This ski resort is the first of the settlements you reach on entering the Gasteinertal. A delightful little village with horses and carts, narrow streets and the old church and all the rest of that typical Alpine charm. Elevation ranges from 835m to 2,686m.
Ellmau
The resort is right in the heart of the Wilder Kaiser-Brixental area, featuring 91 uphill transport facilities - Austria´s largest linked ski area with 250 km of slopes and 130 km of runs serviced with snow-making facilities. Ellmau stands for the biggest SkiWelt resort. Its 20 lifts include what is advertised as the fastest, most modern funicular in Austria. Toboggan runs are floodlit at nights. Nearly 5,000 beds in the spot.
Falkert
Relatively small ski resort at the altitude 5100 to 6900 feet makes this the snowiest place of Carinthia.
Ferienregion Stubai
Only a 15-minute drive from Innsbruck, Tirol, the resorts of Fulpmes, Mieders, Schönberg and Telfes offer a total of 100km groomed slopes and plenty of snow.
Fieberbrunn
A small but attractive north-facing ski area known as a schneeloch, or snowpocket, 10km up the road from St.Johann in Tirol. The main skiing happens at tree-level, with 13 lifts giving access to a small network of mainly long and easy runs totalling 35km.

Galtür
40 km of well-groomed slopes, fresh mountain air in and around Galtür ensures best recreation which will make your stay here to something really special. Skiing is at Wirl, an outpost reached in 5 min by a free shuttle bus. Altitude ranging 1,600m to 2,300m.
Gargellen
A chalet-style village in the Montafon area. The resort boasts 8 lifts, including a super-modern eight-person gondola. 33km of pistes, extensive off-piste terrain.
Gastein
Extensive ski areas with modern lift facilities up to an altitude of 2700 meters. More than 200km of best prepared runs as well as quite a number of deep snow runs, mogul pistes mean the ultimate in piste variety.
Gerlos
From Gerlos you have direct access to the large skiing area in the Zillertal Arena with 155 km of pistes, 55 lifts, 200 snow cannons, snowboarding fun park and a half-pipe.
Going
Fully linked into the SkiWelt, with the best views of the Wilder Kaaiser and a large nursery slope. Nestled right in the heart of the Kitzbühel Alps. Going-Ellmau ski resort offers 52 km of slopes (18 km served by snow-making facilities), 20 ski lifts; New: Kitzbühel Alps Ski Pass for 680 km of slopes and 260 lifts. 800m to 1,829m of altitude.
Göstling-Hochkar
19km of runs for all ability levels on 17 hectares of mainly wide-open terrain. Homeland of Austrian star Thomas Sykora. Perfect daily grooming, 10 modern lifts, snowmaking, night skiing operation, ample off-piste opportunities. Free shuttle service to the resort.
Haus-im-Ennstal
A quiet village with its farming origins still in evidence, although it has a considerable amount of holiday guesthouses and apartments now. A gentle nursery slope lies between the village and the gondola station, as well as a snowboarder's half-pipe.
Bottom elevation 750m (2,460ft), top elevation 2,015m (6,611ft).
Hintertux
One of the best glaciers in the world, with skiing 365 days a year on smoothly groomed corduroy. Great off-piste terrain, state-of-the-art high-speed cable cars an lifts, many surprisingly challenging intermediate and expert runs. This is not a resort for beginners.
Hochficht
Very well kept secret for most of Austrian skiers; calm intermediate resort nicely secluded on the Czech border, north of Linz. 14 km of treed blue and red runs serviced by 6 efficient lifts, ample parking lot right by the lifts, snowboarding snowpark. Linked with neighbouring XC resort at Schoneben (32km of groomed XC trails). 933m-1,337m.
Hochschwab
Ski area includes villages Aflenz-Kurort, Aflenz-Land, Etmissl, St. Ilgen, Thörl, Turnau-Seewiesen, Styria district.
HochZeiger
40km of mainly intermediate skiing and snowboarding on totally wide-open, treeless, mildish terrain, serviced by 9 efficient lifts. Very scenic setting near Pitztal, sunny, yet snowsure slopes, perfect grooming, very few lift lines. 1,450m-2,450m altitude.
Hopfgarten - Kelchsau
A 5,300 inhabitant town in the heart of the Tirolean mountains. Access to the top of Hohe Salve requires three-chair lift rides. Hopfgarten is only an hour´s drive from Munich, Salzburg and Innsbruck, and can easily be reached by bus, train or car, which makes it the perfect base for unforgettable outings and excursions.
Imst-Gurgltal
The Imst-Gurgltal region, that´s the charming town of Imst and its neighboring villages of Karres, Karrösten, Imsterberg and Tarrenz. This lovely region has become a secret tip for people looking for something special concerning their winter holiday. 9km of ski runs, 4 lifts, 42km of groomed XC trails.
Innsbruck
Innsbruck has twice hosted the Olympic Winter Games (1964 and 1976). Surrounding seven renowned ski areas (all accessed with one interchangeable ski pass) offer more than 130 km of trails of all difficulty levels.
Ischgl
The village is in the long, narrow Paznaun valley and the lower, steep, north-facing slopes and the village get almost no sun in early season. Lots of high slopes (mostly for intermediates) with reliable snow, impressive lift system. Not ideal for beginners.
Josefsberg - Mitterbach am Erlaufsee
Featuring mainly early-intermediate skiing on several treed runs serviced by 4 lifts. 1,000m-1,210m altitude, careful grooming, snowboarding halfpipe, cross-country trails.
Kaprun
Situated at the foot of the glacier paradise Kitzsteinhorn and the neighbour villiage of the mountain city Zell am See. Located about 90 km from Salzburg. Fun on the slopes from atumn until summer. Fabulous slopes, freestyle terrain, glacier skiing and first-class snowboard funpark.
Katschberg
Smallish Austrian resort ideal for families with children.
Kaunertal
Pleasant glacier skiing on uncrowded, sunny, wide-open, compact bowl at 2,400m - 3,100m altitude, where you can ski the glacier virtually out of your car. 250 hectares of mainly easy to intermediate, smoothly groomed terrain, ideal for carvers, as well as beginners and families with children.
Kitzbühel / Kirchberg Skiarea
World renowned ski resort located in the Austrian Tyrol. The ski area offers different mountains for a variety of skiers. Kitzbüheler Horn (with an exclusive snb area), the Bichlalm (for nature lovers and freeriders) and the more challenging Hahnenkamm, which is easily accessed from the centre of Kitzbühel by a six-person gondola.

Many consider the Kühtai-Sellraintal region and Kematen as the best of Tirol. Very good snow reliability and lots of sunny days throughout the year.
Lackenhof am Ötscher
19km crowd-free tree-lined runs of all standards, served by 9 efficient lifts. Partial snowmaking, snowboarding halfpipe, ski schools, rental shop, ample XC trails.
Lammer Valley - Dachstein West
Located in the province of Salzburg. The Dachstein West ski region, Abtenau, Lungötz, Postalm and St. Martin communities alone offer more than 50 cable-cars and lifts, and more than 90km of family-friendly dream runs to suit all grades of ability.
Lavanttal
Includes Carinthia's ski resorts Koralpe, Klippitztörl, Weinebene, Petzen,Hebalm, Salzstiegl, Hirschegg with snowboard terrain parks, toboggan tracks and both groomed and off-piste slopes free from avalanche hazard.
Lech / Zürs
Lech with Oberlech, Stubenbach, Zug and Zürs create a single large ski region with plenty of variety whose pistes end at the hotel door, and where guests from all over the world feel completely at home. The ski pistes, ski routes and open slopes are spread between 1450 and 2800 metres above sea level. With 84 cable cars and lifts, 260 km of well-tended pistes and 180 km of open slopes, there is plenty of variety for every skier.
Leisure Centre Zahmer Kaiser
Skiers can reach the 25 km of groomed slopes of the Zahmer Kaiser with 1 chair-lift and 9 ski tows. The open alpine huts with 4 toboggan-runs in Walchsee offer winter fun. Altitude 660-1560m.
Leogang
Apparently the longest village in Europe. A smart, modern gondola takes skiers up to Berghaus Asitz at 1,758m, from where a quad-chair and a six-seater link you into the Saalbach circuit. Altitude raging from 800m (2,625ft) to 2,096m (6,875ft).
Lofer
Lofer, with its well-known Loferer Alm family ski area, is indeed a paradise for families and skiers alike. Centrally located within the Lofer Basin, this community is surrounded by the snow covered peaks of the Loferer and Reither Steinberge mountains.
Mariazeller Bürgeralpe
Mainly beginner to early-intermediate tree-lined skiing and snowboarding in this modern, family-friendly ski resort. 6 modern efficient lifts, snowmaking, 80km of XC trails.
Mayrhofen
Charming Mayrhofen in Zillertal valley is situated in the heart of Tirol. Its main mountain is the Penken, to which gondolas rise from the town centre as well as from the outlying hamlets of Finkenberg and Schwendau. Altitude ranging 630 - 2,500m, 45 lifts and 143 km of pistes, of which 60% are red (intermediate) ones.
